Touchdown!

Need to bring something for the Big Game on Sunday?  I found these cupcakes on my latest addiction… Pinterest (http://www.pinterest.com).

The football-themed cupcakes are by Mini Baker, and if they taste 1/2 as good as they LOOK, then you’ll definitely be the hit of the party! :)

Feeling ambitious and ready to bake?

“Super” Bowl

With the big game around the corner, I was thinking of some host / hostess ideas that are game related (without being cheeeeeeesy).  This chip and dip set by Umbra is a modern alternative to the plastic football bowl.

It retails for $49.99 and you can find it at Bed Bath & Beyond:

*Gift Mama Tip:  Fill the bowl with goodies to eat during the game and leave it there with the host/hostess as a gift :)

Pineberry

SO - this isn’t technically a “gift” post, but I couldn’t resist re-blogging this from The NY Botanical Garden.  When these funky berries are in our supermarkets, they might just make a pretty yummy and unique gift! :)

nybg:

What’s shaped like a strawberry, looks like peppermint, and tastes like a pineapple? It’s a pineberry, naturally! Introduced to the U.K. market within the last couple of years, these shall we say…chromatically curious strawberries originate in South Africa, where Dutch farmers have been growing the previously wild variety in greenhouses.

Their availability in the U.S. is limited at the moment, but who knows? If The Telegraph is right about their growing popularity, we just might see them in the local supermarket as 2012 plays out. — MN
