Father’s Day

Father’s Day is around the corner, so we decided to ask our friend (and gift expert) Dan from Gear Haiku what to get Dad this year.  Here are some of his awesome recommendations:

1. iPhone Commuter Series Wallet by Otterbox:  A protective case buddies up with a minimalist wallet

2. Steampunk-Inspired Coffee Mill:  Grinding your own beans has never been this cool

3. Weekender Watch by Timex:  Affordable Summer style, and can you have too many watches?

4. The Pitt Boss BBQ Toolbelt:  The perfect accessory for the Alfa Dog behind the grill

5. Man Crates:  A manly take on a gift basket. Dads dig Man Crates.

Still stumped? If you’re really stuck, just stay C.A.L.M.. Those soothing four letters are all you need to know to come up with a gift that “gets” dad. Click here to learn how to stay C.A.L.M. and find a great gift.

Thanks Dan!!!  Be sure to check out Gear Haiku for cool gear and other unique gift ideas.

Thumbs

I was lucky enough to receive some Thumbs Cookies last week, and I just HAD to write about them!

Thumbs was created by a friend of mine whose mom used to make these cookies for various occasions.   She realized just how special they were, not only because her mom would put her signature thumb print on them, but because they were made with love!  The tradition continues…

Thumbs come in a bunch of yummy (and unique) flavors, such as: original, double chocolate, apricot, rosemary pecan and chocolate hazelnut.  Not only do they taste delicious, but I love that they are packaged in a mason jar – which is great for gift giving!

Check out these delicious little morsels here: Thumbs Cookies

Happy Summer Everyone!

Stitch Fix

What do you get the girl that has everything? How about an online personal stylist?!

My husband gave me the gift of Stitch Fix about 8 months ago, and at first I was definitely skeptical.  After completing the online style survey (which is a lot of fun), my first “fix” arrived.  To be completely honest, the first few fixes were good – not great, and I kept one item from each.  Each fix comes with about 5 pieces (accessories too), and a write up from the stylist explaining how to wear them.  I noticed that they changed stylists week to week, and a friend of mine told me that once you find one that you like / gets you, you can request to work exclusively with them.

So, Ashley is now my stylist – and for the first time last month I kept EVERYTHING in my fix!  It is so fun and exciting to receive personally curated clothes sent directly to my doorstep!  As a Mama it is very hard to get out there and shop for clothing (glancing at clothes at Target counts, right?), but with Stitch Fix I am adding unique and trendy pieces to my wardrobe at an affordable price (and I feel completely pampered while doing it)!

This is not a sponsored post – I just wanted to share my experience with you, and pass along this unique gift idea!

If you decide to try it, let me know what you think.  Check it out here: STITCH FIX

Happy Shopping!
