Heartstrings

I wanted an EASY Valentine’s Day craft that my 3 year old would enjoy (and wouldn’t make a big mess), so I came up with these Valentine Heartstrings…

Felt hearts that you can hang on a door knob, in a child’s room, or anywhere you want to add a little V-Day love!

Here’s what you need (I got all of the supplies at Michaels):

  • Felt Hearts (come in a 12 pack of red and pink)
  • Foam Stickers
  • Ribbon

Simply take the hearts, get creative with the stickers, and tie the ribbon on!

These could also be given as a Valentine’s Day greeting (simply add To: and From:)

Happy Decorating, and Happy Valentine’s Day!

PB Pop

Peanut butter and chocolate make quite a pair – add popcorn into the mix, and you have quite a party!

A one-gallon tin of this gourmet popcorn (from the King of  Pop)  is $24.99.

Send this to a friend, and they will be sure to THANK YOU! Check it out here: Peanut Butter Cup Popcorn

Techie Cuffs

Is your man a techie? Then he’ll definitely appreciate these cufflinks that contain an actual USB flash drive.

Each set holds 4GB of memory, and comes in a silver, gunmetal, or gold finish.

They are $48.99, and can be found here: USB Cufflinks

Lotty Dotty

Little girls love to dress up (themselves and their dolls).  And now, they can do BOTH at the same time with The Lotty Dotty Shirt Collection.

Created in Paris, Lotty Dotty shirts can be customized by color and doll.

The shirt kits are $40, and are for girls ages 3 – 10.

Ooh La La!

Pie Box

Usually, the simplest idea is the one that makes you say “why didn’t I think of that?”, and that is exactly the case when it comes to The Pie Box.

Transport your pies with ease in this handcrafted pine box.  It is $35, and fits most 9 inch deep dish pie plates.

I love this idea – bring a pie and leave behind the gorgeous box as a gift!

Crafty Prints

I don’t consider myself to be a “crafty” person, but I happened to be in Michaels, and was looking for something to make with the kids to give to the Grandparents for Valentine’s Day.  I wanted to do something with their handprints (who doesn’t LOVE a handprint) but, I needed something that I could fit both kid’s prints on.  I stumbled upon these wooden boxes- I liked them because I could put a handprint on either side, customize them, and fill them up with Valentine’s Day goodies.  I had my 3 year old help out with this craft, and he absolutely loved it!

This is a fun and easy project to do – here’s what you need:

  • Wooden Box
  • Acrylic Paint
  • Paint Brushes
  • Letter Stickers
  • Ribbon
  • Candy

We chose colors that the grandparents like- turquoise (with white) and green (with yellow).

After each box dried (which took about 20 minutes), it was time to do the handprints.  The three year old really enjoyed this part (the 7 month old – not so much)!

A few handprint tips:

  • Dip the hand into the paint and first put it onto paper before placing onto the box
  • Instead of dipping into the paint, you can also paint the hand with a brush (which is a bit neater)
  • Press the hand and all fingers onto the box evenly and remove quickly

After the boxes dried, we added the stickers, candy, and ribbon.  Each box has both prints (one on either side). The yellow (unfortunately) did not POP as much as the white, but you can definitely still see the prints in person.

Enjoy, and Happy Valentine’s Day!

iBed

I love a gift that serves a purpose, and if you have an iPad or tablet this one does just that!

It is $14 and comes in 4 colors – check it out here: iBed iPad Lap Desk

Bread Board

Alone, this just looks like a board… but, put a baguette in it, and…

Viola! It becomes a super smart gadget, and a great hostess / housewarming gift!

The Core Bamboo Baguette Board is $36 and  ensures perfect bread (or sandwich) slices every time!
