Girly Bags

Have a photographer in your life? Then she’ll LOVE these girly camera bags by Epiphanie! Created by a professional photographer who was sick of carrying around ugly man bags, Maile Wilson has made a line of gorgeous yet functional camera bags.

This one is the Charlotte bag – here’s a peak at the inside:

I saw these cuties at the Gift Show – Manny & Simon’s push toys.

Each toy is made in the US out of recycled wood and non toxic paint.

In addition to the animal push toys, they also make cars, trucks, and trains!

They are around $32 each, and can be found here: Manny & Simon Push Toys

NY International Gift Fair

I was lucky enough to attend the NYIGF, where companies big and small come to showcase the newest and greatest in gift ideas and products. I was also excited to be selected as a judge for the Baby & Child Best New Product Awards (more on that when the winners are announced)!

Although I probably came away with hundreds of new gift ideas, here’s the rundown on some of the trends and a few of my favorites (I can’t wait to show you all of them in the coming months)!

Eco-Friendly:  The trend continues to be green! From kids apparel (organic fabrics), to dishes (made out of corn)…There were some cool blocks made out of recycled cardboard by Eco-Kids,  Dishsoap in repurposed wine bottles as well as an entire line of  bath products in recycled packaging by Blithe and Bonny (whale candles pictured – bottom left), and I loved the line of Fantastic Anti-Plastic Dishes (BPA-Free and Biodegradable) that I saw at the Zoe B booth (also pictured – top right).

Technology:  The shift to make tech accessories pretty / handsome is in full swing.  Most major designers now offer a tech line – I saw adorable & girly floral cases from Lilly Pulitzer, and bold & funky cases from designer Jonathan Adler (pictured above – top left).

Many of the designers are trying to blend cases with functionality – I saw a lot of cases with wallet-like attachments on the back, like the iSlide by Triple C Design.  There is also a shift to use wood in phone cases and tech accessories (tying in both functionality and eco-consciousness).

Babies and Kids:  There were some wonderful handmade gift ideas, as well as many innovative products to make mom and dad’s life a bit easier.  I loved the Zipit Onesie (pictured- bottom middle) for “fuss-free dressing” – who couldn’t use that?! I also loved the creativity in Twoolies – a unique line of stuffed animals (made from natural wool), hand-crafted by artisans from around the world (pictured above – bottom right).

And, I had to show you these adorable heart shoe-clips by (pictured top middle) -a super fun and adorable Valentine’s Day gift idea!

Overall, there were SO many unique products to see – I could probably write an entire book about it!

Please stay tuned to see all of my great finds from the NYIGF in the coming months!
